Alberto López Cuenca is Reader in the Department of Humanities, Universidad de las Américas, Puebla (Mexico). He earned a PhD in Philosophy from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and then spent one year as visiting scholar at Columbia University. In 2001 he moved to Mexico, where he has both lectured on traditional philosophical subjects (Epistemology, Philosophy of Language) and promoted interdisciplinary approaches to contemporary culture. He has co-edited two books on intellectual property and new media:'' Propiedad intelectual, nuevas tecnologías y libre acceso a la cultura'' (2008) and ''¿Desea guardar los cambios? Propiedad intelectual y nuevas tecnologías'' (2009).
