Erica Fudge is Professor of English Studies at the University of Strathclyde. She is the author, among other books, of Brutal Reasoning: Animals, Rationality and Humanity (2006), and Animal (2002) and is director of the British Animal Studies Network.

Clare Palmer is a Professor of Philosophy at Texas A&M University. She is the author of Animal Ethics in Context (Columbia University Press, 2010) and is currently co-authoring a book on ethics and companion animals. She was the President of the international Society for Environmental Ethics from 2007-2010.
