Her work spans new media, photography, and feminist science and technology studies. Her books include: ''Cyberfeminism and Artificial Life'' (Routledge, 2003) and ''Inventive Life. Towards the New Vitalism'' (Sage, 2006). She has just finished writing a new book, with Joanna Zylinska, for the MIT Press called ''Life After New Media: Mediation as a Vital Process'' and has also published her first novel entitled ''The Optical Effects of Lightning'' (Wild Wolf Publishing, 2011). She co-edits the journal ''photographies'' and is currently researching the links between photography and technoscience through face recognition technology. She is a consultant expert (in alien mediation) for SETI-X (the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence - in Exile).&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
